Church Life
There is a Church of Scotland service each Sunday, with a mixture of traditional and modern approaches.  Efforts are underway to rekindle services at the local home for the elderly.  At present we have two organists, and are developing a music group to participate in worship.

Church Building
A parliamentary church built in 1827, it was altered in 1924.  The gallery was removed and a small hall formed at the rear of the building.  This has reduced the capacity of the sanctuary which can still comfortably accommodate 100 people.  The use of the building is shared with the Scottish Episcopal Church.  The church is open 24 hours a day for quiet contemplation.

Church Activities
A Kids’ Club, run by a husband and wife team from the Abernethy School of Adventure Leadership, meets during morning worship throughout term time.  A bible study group meets from September to April each year.
In 1843, a local landowner refused permission to build a Free Church in the area.  The congregation clubbed together to purchase a suitable vessel on Clydeside, had it converted into a church, and then towed it up the west coast of Scotland to a mooring nearby on Loch Sunart, where it became known as the Floating Church.  This served the community until the 1870s.
